HOW MANY TIMES WILL WE SEE THE ACC LET DOGS BE ADOPTED BY IRRESPONSIBLE PEOLE WHO DUMP THE DOGS BACK BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN MISTAKES?? AND NOW POOR CHARLOTTE WILL SUFFER FOR IT!!

Her shelter comments tell the story of a sweet compliant girl. Comments such as - the dog is very friendly and allow handling and Gentle when taking treats, compliant for exam and even When off leash with another dog, Charlotte greeted politely. Yet now poor Charlotte is back in the shelter and will need us more than ever before! All thanks to the people who adopted and dumped her! It is truly heartbreaking that Charlotte, an innocent party in all of this, will be the one to suffer! So please help Charlotte find the hero she desperately needs. Owner Surrender Reason: I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 04-May-2019, with the surrender reason stated as other.

Bite history:: Yes, Charlotte has bitten twice while in her previous home. The first bite occurred when a child was running in the yard and Charlotte got loose and chased the child. This bite was to the ankle area and hit the child's shoe so did not break skin. The second bite occurred when Charlotte got loose in the lobby of her building and chased a building worker. A neighbor called her to him and she ran at him, jumping up and biting his arm. She lunged again towards him but someone grabbed her leash and she did not get to him. The bite resulted in broken skin.

Summary:: 3/15/19: When off leash with another dog, Charlotte greeted politely. She would bounce around the yard in the presence of the male greeter dog, however, would not engage in play.

3/16: Charlotte was soft when greeting a male dog, exploring and bouncing around the yard.

3/17: Charlotte greets dog nicely, but does correct when a dog is too playful for her.

Place with a New Hope partner: Due to Charlotte's bite history, we recommend she be placed with a New Hope placement partner who is able to provide an experienced adult-only foster home. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Charlotte to acclimate comfortably to her new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Charlotte to new and unfamiliar situations. Consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended for guidance to safely manage/modify any behavior Charlotte presents with outside of the care centers.
