About tucker: Tucker ACCT-A-112216 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavior concerns and the current capacity at the shelter. Tucker must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER or RESCUE PARTNER by Saturday, May 21st, at 10 a.m. Should Tucker's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Tucker arrived as a stray on 4.19.22. The individuals that found him had him in their care for 3 days and shared he didn't do too well with male dogs. While here Tucker has been a happy boy who loves his staff and volunteer friends. He is social, playful, and silly boy. He was at our temporary shelter for some time, and would often sit on top of his crate in his kennel and watch out the window. Unfortunately, Tucker has been overlooked in our care and is beginning to show signs of stress and is declining quickly. Tucker is becoming increasingly dog reactive and will lunge at the other kennels, snapping towards them and is unable to be redirected, and as the shelter is currently completely full with dogs, his stress is only increasing, and he is becoming harder for staff to handle safely due to his level of reactivity. Tucker has also suffered from a persistent URI and has not been improving, which is likely due to stress. Per Staff: Tucker was easily leashed. While walking through the kennels, Tucker was barky and screaming. Tucker does pull quite a bit on the leash. He loves to run and would rather do so instead of being inside of a run. When in the run, Tucker seeks an exit and will stand by the gate. Tucker does not engage much in toys ,however, he will participate in tag and running back and forth with the handler. Tucker allows complete handling and has the cutest little smush face. He is an energetic boy who would benefit from an active home. Here are some notes from his behavior evaluation: "Once in the eval room Tucker loosened up a lot and became a wiggly affectionate boy! He solicited attention from me giving low wags and sat beside me. He also trotted around the room exploring and sniffing around and would then run back to me for more attention. He had no interest in my treats but did love getting attention. He would nudge himself into my lap and lean closer and closer to me. Playful and very gentle while playing!!" Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details.
