About brooklyn: Brooklyn ACCT-A-143183 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space for incoming dogs, and length of stay. Brooklyn must have confirmed placement with an RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by Monday, August 21st at 10 A.M. Should Brooklyn's medical or behavioral status change, their urgency and timeline for placement may also change.

Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately.

Meet Brooklyn. She is a medium sized gray and white female who came to us as a stray on 07/22 after she was found wandering the streets all alone. Her finder described her as friendly, cuddly, quiet, playful and love care rides. Brooklyn is a gentle pup who is looking for a cozy place to call home! Her easy going disposition easily wins over everyone she meets. She also enjoys hanging out in the sun and people-watching as she is a very curious pup! Give Brooklyn a pet or two and you have made a best friend for life. Add some treats on top and she is ready to go home with you!

Brooklyn has also had positive dog interactions since being in our care so, if you are adding her to your pack we would recommend a slow introduction. If you feel as though your home has room for this sweet and dynamic pup. Please come meet her at ACCT Philly today!

Medically Brooklyn came to us as a generally healthy intact female on 07/22 who was suspected to be postpartum because staff observed her lactating. She also had a scar around her neck but was otherwise bright, alert and responsive. However on 07/25 Brooklyn was checked again by staff due to skin irritation. Staff medicated Brooklyn for her symptoms but, they also stated 'likelihood that skin issues are due to an underlying allergy and may prove recurrent.' Brooklyn will do best in a home where her skin issues can be monitored on a regular basis. On 07/28 Brooklyn was seen by staff because she was observed to have a 'doggy cold'. Staff stated 'This dog has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a 'doggy cold'. They have been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. They will need a veterinarian to examine them before they receive surgery, if they are not already altered. Since this time she has been observed to have passed her cold. However, on 08/15 Brooklyn was seen again by staff because she was seen 'Bleeding from lower abdomen between mammary glands'. This was assessed to be a possible reaction of her suture being in place from surgery. She has since been medicated for her symptoms. Overall she will do best in a home where she can receive the individualized medical management she needs on a daily basis.

Staff stated on 08/14: Brooklyn is a young, petite Pittie Mix who is a real doll...she is easy to handle and an excellent walker. Brooklyn is a happy girl who loves to sit close to you and gives great kisses...She likes car rides and is truly a sweetheart

Per staff on 08/14: I spent a lot of time with Brooklyn this weekend. She learned our routine quickly and was down for anything. Brooklyn is super chill. She likes to glue herself to your side. She will jump up and spin in circles for you to show how happy she is to see you! Brooklyn is easy as can be. She is great in the car, bathtub, on her leash, with kids, seniors, and even on a KAYAK! Brooklyn can curl her tongue, making the cutest faces as her lips get stuck on her gums showing you her teefers. She is cool with cats and is non reactive when passing dogs- she really is only interested in you and being close to you. She will cuddle with you or sit at your feet. She likes a blanket or pillow to sit on. She is a very quiet girl- she will only bark if she thinks you might be in danger. Or if she is really happy to see you!!! She is an absolute dream with her one ear up and one ear down all the time. Definitely come check out this love bug!!!

Staff stated on 08/8: Brooklyn was initially a little timid when she first came outside, but that soon turned into cautious curiosity - she sniffed and jumped up on a bench on our way to the yard and once in the yard she showed off how brave she was by climbing the stairs/ramp up and doing the A-frame! She was very cuddly and enjoyed sitting in my lap for pets. She was very interested in other dogs and would go up to the fence to greet them with tail wags.

Staff stated on 08/7: Brooklyn greeted me with soft eyes, a loose body, and a wagging tail when I approached her kennel. When I opened the door she tried to push out with her snout, but then she allowed me to leash her and exited the kennel without issue. Pulled minimally on the leash. Such a sweet girl! She sniffed around for a bit then put her front legs in my lap and allowed all over handling. She is a very chill girl who enjoys your company.

Staff stated on 08/5: Brooklyn is a wiggly girl who tries really hard to sit still but her wiggly butt barely allows it. She was a little shy coming out the door but was good once we were outside. She jumped up on the bench and tried to give her best pose, she was all ears, literally. I took her in one of the runs and went to fill a water bowl and quickly realized she lovvesss playing with water! She was so funny! Every video I took I would try to back up and she just kept inching closer to me. She likes hot dogs and takes treats gently. She met two dogs through the fence and was just an overall happy girl. As a bonus she has the most adorable underbite! Head to ACCT to meet her!

Staff stated on 07/25: Brooklyn was loose in the kennel and wiggly at the front- eager to exit. She did try to push out the bottom of kennel a little bit but was still fairly easy to leash. When returning she did pancake going into the kennel but allowed us to lift her in.

Staff stated on 07/25: Brooklyn was very wiggly in the room and would solicit attention from both handlers. She was very gentle and well mannered outside. She was very affectionate as well and would lay on our laps getting pets. She has the cutest underbite and her tooth gets stuck on her lip. No interest in treats

Staff stated on 07/22: Brooklyn was standing at the kennel doors every time I walked by seeking attention from me. She was happy and wiggly with any type of attention. She was easy to get out and on leash. She does have a wound on her neck like something was tied around it, but it's healing and didn't seem to cause any discomfort. In the yard she spent most of the time sniffing around so it was hard to get good photos. She definitely seemed more at ease and happier inside the kennels rather than outside.
