𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐀 is now on the euthanasia list for "Heartworms; Behavior (Tense body, hackles raised and flighty with staff.)." Please adopt, foster, or rescue 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐀 📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: 3/6/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE (INTAKE): 1 beige stray shepherd still in callers frontyard / req pickup / tries to jump on caller and her kids. 3/10/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Sitting at front of kennel until approached, then ran through swinging doors. Locked her out to clean kennel then went around to leash. Marita retreated to back wall and when she couldn't go through swinging doors began pacing with ears down, tail tucked trying to hide. Moving to avoid leash. Once leashed walked with semi-tight leash behind me, tail tucked and constant lip licking, whale eyes and moving to look back at me while walking. Kept ears down the entire time. 3/11/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel, Marita rushed to the other side of the doggy doors with low head, tucked tail, and whaled eyes as I offered treats and babytalked to her. She did dig at the door to open it until I guided her back with the kuranda bed since I was about to clean it. When leash walking, she avoid being leashed and once out maintains a far distance from me, slightly tight leash, and continuous lip licks as well as paw lift. 3/12/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Marita presents a tense body, wrinkly forhead, whale eyes, and erect ears. During cleaning time, she got out from the doggy door, and so she was walking around and i noticed she was flighty, and she had her hackles raised. i had to guide her back to her kennel, by walking behind her. 3/13/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Timid body language and whale eyes when apporaching kennel, cowars and exits through divider. I tossed treats and she returned. I leashed her and she followed me outside the kennel. She walked looosely on leash as I walked her outside and placed her in a run.
