This cute guy is now on the euthanasia list for "Space/Behavior (Forward barking, continuing to be very forward on leash. Pulling heavily towards other dogs.)." He is heartworm positive, but if he is adopted through the shelter, they will help with the heartworm medication. 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐑 needs a new loving, committed family of his own or a foster family who will give him the love, care, security, healing, and the attention that he so deserves and the chance to live a long, good life. 📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: 4/14/2025 INTAKE: Unit 87c23 on standby for asst with one dog due to eviction. 4/18/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Dog was in the runs when i retrieved him. He was hyper and had a wiggly body with fast wagging tail. Also kept vocalizing. I easily leashed him, he walked on a tight leash. 4/21/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: 04/21/25 17:06 Quiet in kennel during cleaning. Hadn't pottied overnight or throughout the morning. Once I leashed after it stopped raining he walked with extremely tight leash outside to grass and pottied right away. I placed him in the runs and he was high pitched crying and barking without breaks, standing on hind legs pawing at the gate latch (it was also clipped with a carabiner). Brought him back inside and Connor was high pitched barking throughout the rest of cleaning and throughout the day. Gave him two extra walks midday and PM and he pottied both times, but would begin vocalizing once back in kennel for a while before settling down again. 4/22/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Connor may be possibly potty trained. Kennel was clean on the inside and outside of kennel. Was vocal throughout am cleaning until I got to him. Once on the leash dog was forward and was unable to distract . I did noticed once he hit the grass he began to potty and was on a much more loose leash . Once I came back to leash him up he was over aroused and vocalizing. Walked back to kennel on a semi tight leash with panting heavily. Became relaxed once back in kennel. Later on in the pm did become vocal but I offered him a rawhide and was quiet and keeping busy chewing on it. 4/23/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Connor becomes very vocal when customers are passing through. I have his kennel covered and offer him a chewy treat to try and keep him occupied. Still very forward on the leash and not showing interest in anything when I attempt to distract him from pulling. 4/24/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel, Connor is forward bark, heavy panting, and jumping on the kennel door as I offer treats to leash him. Dog ignored treats all throughout interaction and kept pulling heavily to either other dogs. Would suggest to use chicken or hotdogs to see if dog's attention gets redirected.
