About dingo: Intake Info: Dingo A2226402 and another dog, Rocco A2226403, were found abandoned at the library in Boynton Beach. They came to shelter on 3/27 and Rocco has since been adopted. Dingo was scanned but no microchip was found and the ACO had to use the control pole to get him on the truck and then into the kennels. Medical: Quiet and alert, he trembles and is avoidant but overall did well with physical contact and was tolerable for exam. Neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative. Behaviors Observed: He?s steerable but did show teeth at the shake jug when it was used. No issues when other aversives were used. He had an uninterested gate greeting and had some slightly stiff, light socialization with a male dog. He preferred to keep to himself and bared teeth at another dog when they put paws on him. At one time he leaped out of the yard over the fence into an empty kennel. On leash, he will lightly socialize with other dogs but continues to make attempts to jump the gate. Volunteer Notes: Likes to jump (he can jump the 5 foot fence) and is active in the yard. He can be shy to come out, but is friendly. Request to Rescues: Dingo is a good boy who was sadly left by his owner. Now he is at the shelter, scared and confused. He needs rescue help as his repeated escape attempts show just how much he wants to leave here and his behavior exceeds our capacity for care. He needs a home who can provide him a safe space for enrichment and the time needed so that he can learn to trust people again. Given the time and love, he can be the perfect companion.
