Jupiter ACCT-A-225746 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Jupiter must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by THURSDAY, AUGUST 7TH at 10AM. Should Jupiter?s medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change.
Jupiter arrived at ACCT Philly on July 14th, after being found loose on the streets alongside another dog. Initially overwhelmed in the shelter environment, Jupiter has shown low energy and a sweet, reserved nature. She?s shy but tolerant, and with time and space, she allows handling and shows interest in those who go slowly. On leash, she may pause or hesitate due to nervousness, but she responds well to patience and encouragement. Volunteers and staff describe her as a ?sweet girl,? one who just needs extra time to adjust and feel safe. She has also joined playgroup, showing polite behavior with other dogs, and even displayed spurts of playful engagement?especially with dogs who respected her space.
Jupiter?s a sensitive soul who likely hasn?t had much stability in her life, but she?s quietly making progress. She would do best with someone who can offer her the consistency and reassurance she needs to blossom. She is looking for a home without children. Please bring all members of your household and any resident dogs along for a meet. Due to her length of stay, Jupiter is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter.

KENNEL PRESENTATION: Jupiter was at the front with soft eyes and a mid level wagging tail. She was easy to leash and came out hesitantly with wide dialed eyes.
LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally -- made lots of stops between the kennels, hyper vigilant on leash, every sound frightened her, move away sporadically, needs leash pressure and time after each stop (to continue moving forward)
SOCIABILITY: Jupiter was nervous and hesitant of me in the yard, avoiding me but keeping eye contact. I called her over with a treat and she sniffed it with a low curled tail. She came up next to me and I slowly attempted some handling. She was hunched over but very tolerant. As soon as she was overwhelmed with touch she ran away and began becoming tense.
PLAY & TOYS: No interest.
DOG INTERACTION: N/A
RETURNING TO KENNEL: She lip raised at me when I used leash pressure to return her. She started stopping again and bucking back.
COLOR LEVEL: Exp. Blue.
