About cozy: Hello, my name is Cozy. My animal id is #248475. I am a female brown dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 2 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 2/27/2026.
Cozy is on the at-risk list due to behavioral concerns. Cozy arrived at the Care Center with limited history. During Cozy's stay in her most recent home, Cozy was involved in a bite incident with a resident dog and has been highly reactive to the resident cat. Cozy was reported to initially get along with the other resident dog; however one evening Cozy bit the resident dog without a known trigger. The bite left a puncture wound on the resident dog that required treatment at a vet. With staff, Cozy has been social, is treat receptive, and allows all contact. Medically, Cozy is noted to be in heat and has CIRDC.
