📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
5/23/2026: Lucas would howl and paw at kennel door as citizens and other dogs passed by. Redirected briefly with treats.
5/22/2026: Lucas had broken his water bowl handle and spilled it. Vocalized toward passing dogs and pawed at kennel door. Tried to bolt when kennel was opened for feeding and spot cleaning.
5/21/2026: Lucas walked on a loose leash to the run and when brought back he began digging at his water bucket in kennel.
5/20/2026: Lucas stayed on his bed throughout the day. Walked on a loose leash outside and pottied immediately on grass. Neutral body, soft facial expression, and slow wagging tail noted. Continued spilling water from bucket.
5/19/2026: Lucas was laying on his bed with a relaxed body when approached. Slow to get up but once leashed he was ready to go outside. Walked on a semi loose leash and later a loose leash the remainder of the time.
5/18/2026: Lucas was easily leashed and walked semi loosely with a neutral body. Vocalized toward another dog approaching kennel but remained quiet the rest of the day.
5/17/2026: Treated dog this morning. Quiet throughout the day and laying on bed. Did not spill water in kennel.
5/15/2026: Quiet in kennel during AM feeding and cleaning. Walked on a loose leash heading outside but returning became focused on other dogs and pulled toward them. Ignored redirection and baby talk. Drank water and threw water bucket spilling it repeatedly.
5/15/2026: Continued dumping water bucket in kennel. Additional bucket attached with karabiner but he removed it and broke the handle. Picked up bowl and tossed it. Staff attempting alternate enrichment and water setups.
5/13/2026: Painted kennel overnight. Presented with neutral body, low swaying tail, and soft mouth. Walked on a loose leash heading in and out of south runs.
5/11/2026: During morning feedings Lucas knocked over his water bucket and it had to be zip tied to kennel gate. Walked on loose leash and remained neutral around outside runs. Vocalized periodically while staff cleaned kennels.
5/10/2026: Continued knocking over water bucket during morning feeding. Neutral on leash and ignored most dogs passing by. In outside runs he jumped on run gate and swung paws outside while staff cleaned kennels, vocalizing intermittently.
5/9/2026: Lucas did not want to come out of kennel willingly during morning walks but stood up for treats and followed trail outside. Walked on loose leash and remained neutral. Vocalized periodically during kennel cleaning. Pulled sheet covering into kennel.
5/8/2026: After being placed in kennel, Lucas heavily panted while vocalizing nonstop during cleaning session. Treats were tossed over but behavior continued.
5/7/2026: Lucas walked to and from runs with no issues. Loose leash, low swaying tail, and neutral body.
5/6/2026: Walked out on a loose leash with neutral body and low swaying tail. No issues walking to and from runs.
5/5/2026: Lucas walked slowly out of kennel and roamed around outside before laying down once returned.
5/4/2026: Lucas kept digging at water bowl and food trough. Howled and whined in kennel. Very slow coming out of kennel. Outside he sniffed the ground and ignored treats.
5/3/2026: Tucked tail with teeth showing during intake. Had to be carried.
🚑 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
5/3/2026: Weighed 64.8 lbs. Intake exam normal. Heartworm test negative. Vaccinated with Rabies, DA2PP-V, and Bordetella. Dewormed with Pyrantel and given Advantage Multi flea prevention.
5/8/2026: Healing wound noted on top of head. Prescribed Rimadyl 125mg SID x10 days.
5/12/2026: Weighed 63.4 lbs. Neuter surgery performed with routine prescrotal incision and absorbable closure. Mild dental tartar noted. Given Ketofen and KDT. Nail trim completed and e-collar placed.
5/14/2026: Evaluated for bloody diarrhea. No bowel movement initially noted in kennel but stools outside appeared normal. Slight dehydration suspected due to tacky gums and prolonged CRT. Later recheck showed no further diarrhea and condition stable with normal hydration and appetite.
5/17/2026: BAR with green nasal discharge noted. Diagnosed URI and started on Doxycycline 100mg treatment.
5/20/2026: Diagnosed with intestinal parasites and treated with Praziquantel.
