About petal: Intake Info: Petal (A2334835) was found in the backyard of a residence and brought to our shelter as a stray. Medical: Petal is currently receiving treatment for kennel cough and was recently spayed. During her vet exam she was noted to have a significant right ear infection with inflammation and pain on palpation, along with a mild right head tilt suspected to be secondary to the severity of the infection. Radiographs of her pelvis and right stifle were obtained due to mild weight-bearing lameness of the hind end and an exaggerated hip swing to the right side, with age-related arthritis suspected. She also has significant hair loss and crusting along her back and rump, consistent with flea allergy dermatitis. A mild fatty-feeling mass near the right cranial mammary chain was identified and may warrant monitoring or further investigation. Petal also has moderate dental disease and she is heartworm negative. HS-4. Request to Rescues: Sweet senior Petal is in need of a rescue that can provide her with the continued medical care and comfort she deserves. She would benefit from ongoing treatment for her ear infection and skin condition, dental care, arthritis management, and monitoring or further evaluation of the fatty mass near her right cranial mammary gland. While Petal is also being treated for kennel cough, she would greatly benefit from a calm and loving environment where she can rest, heal, and enjoy her precious days with the comfort and care she deserves.
