💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: 6/26: Luna presented with an overly aroused body, panting, dilated eyes, pacing, jumping on kennel walls, and vocalizing with a high-pitched whine. She walked on a loose leash but repeatedly jumped around and spun in circles.
6/25: Luna was observed whining in a high pitch with dilated eyes, panting, and jumping on kennel walls. Staff covered her kennel and provided additional enrichment to help reduce her stress. While walking on leash, she ignored treats and would jump, bolt in different directions, and occasionally jump on handlers.
6/24: Luna remained quiet in her kennel during feeding and cleaning but would occasionally jump on the kennel wall when someone entered the row. She greeted staff with a neutral body and a low, slow wagging tail. She walked on a loose leash outside, but when returning indoors she would stop and pull back before eventually continuing.
6/22: Luna was moved into a new kennel as part of a move-adopt placement. Staff noted she soiled her kennel shortly after arrival and believed she may not have had an opportunity to relieve herself beforehand.
6/15 Intake: Caller reported that the dog was acting aggressively and had been confined in a dog park.
🚑 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: ' Approximately 38 pounds ' Heartworm negative ' No significant medical concerns documented
💜 Luna is only one year old and appears to be shutting down under the intense stress of shelter life. She deserves the opportunity to decompress, feel safe, and learn that the world can be kind again.
