06/20/2026 Days At Shelter 36 At Risk Since 2026-07-21 Dog displays barrier reactivity upon approach by growling, barking and rushing barrier with a tense body, wide side eyes, pinned ears and a high tail. As handler enters kennel and sits, he retreats and low growls with same body language where he is able to adjust and displays sociability by coming over to greet handler with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a low tail. He is easy to leash and walks slowly outside. In yard, he displays sociability with a select handler by coming over to greet them and sitting head in their lap seemingly interested in affection with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a low tail. He allows select handler to pet his chin, chest and head with same body language. As other handlers approach, he communicates for space by low growling with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a low tail and retreats to select handler seemingly for comfort. He is able to adjust and takes treats from other handler with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a low tail. He is easy to return to kennel and allows handlers to easily remove leash.
06/28/2026 As approached in kennel, dog displayed defensive body posture with tucked tail, wide eyes, and barking. Dog moved further back as approached. Treats were tossed in and dog displayed conflicted body language with low-tucked wag, wide eyes, and ate the treat. Dog took treats from handler's hand and was easy to leash up and walk out. Once out of the kennel, dog's body loosened with a wide wagging tail. Outside he solicited and accepted affection leaning into the handler and gently taking treats by hand. He was easy to return and unleash in the kennel. Dog licked handler's hand through the kennel before departing.
07/22/2026 Dog displays sociability by coming over to greet handler with a tense body, pinned ears and a low tail and is easy to leash and walk outside where he pulls on leash. He displays reactivity toward dogs at barrier by chuffing and growling at dogs with a tense and frontal body, rasied hackles, wide eyes, pinned ears and a high tail where he is redirected and is returned to kennel.
