🐾Behavior Notes:
Ralphie is an extremely frightened dog whose behavior appears driven by fear and the overwhelming shelter environment. However, once patient staff slowed down, used gentle baby talk, and allowed him time, Ralphie showed a very different side. He leaned into handlers for comfort while trembling, accepted medical care, allowed petting without incident, and walked calmly back to his kennel on a loose leash. He remains hesitant and can freeze when frightened, but he has repeatedly shown that calm, patient handling helps him feel safe.
