🩷 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Rowena is a scared senior girl. The chance of her making it out alive is extremely low and she is probably the longest shot on tomorrow's euthanasia list just because she is 10 years old and heartworm positive. I came up to her kennel and she was laying quietly on the ground. She seems friendly and sweet but scared in the shelter. I leashed her up but she wasn't eager to leave the kennel, so I picked her up and took her outside. Once we were outside, she walked on the leash. This girl has a small mass hanging from her chest. She also was noted to have a few other lumps. Watch her videos throughout the comments.
🔷Intake:
- Stray senior Staffordshire mix.
- Citizen reported that two large neighborhood dogs, one beige and one tan, entered their yard every morning.
- Dogs were reportedly not kept on a leash or otherwise restrained.
📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
- No additional shelter behavior notes were provided.
🚑𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
- Heartworm High Positive.
- Senior (geriatric) dog.
- Old aural (pinna) hematoma.
- Soft mass on the ventral abdomen and a soft pedunculated abdominal mass.
- Additional mass noted on the front of the chest.
- Masses require a fine needle aspirate (FNA) for diagnosis.
- Prescribed Rimadyl (Carprofen) for pain and inflammation.
