Cam Cam is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Cam Cam has not acclimated well to the shelter environment and has displayed a concerning level of arousal. During his intake exam after being treated for mild heatstroke, he did escalate to lunging at medical staff and was double leashed as a result. He has been reported to mount his bedding and has translated that on one occasion to mounting a handler. Cam Cam recently has begun to leash bite; treats are used to redirect him, but then he returns to leash biting after eating. Medically, Cam Cam is being treated for CIRDC.

Cam Cam was surrendered into care as a stray, so his past history in a home environment is unknown. Cam Cam has been highly fearful during his stay in care, staying in the back of his kennel, dodging leashing. He did escalate to lunging with his mouth closed during his medical after receiving treatment for mild heatstroke. When attempting to conduct a handling assessment, he did take high-value treats from handlers, but moved away with whale eyes when they attempted to interact. Due to these concerns, we recommnend for Cam Cam to be placed in an adult-only home through a New Hope rescue partner.
