Moxie is heartworm high positive, a treatable condition with proper veterinary care. She has some hair loss on her rump and tail that the shelter veterinarian believes is due to a flea allergy, with no treatment currently needed. She also has a healed dart wound to her left upper flank from intake and appears to have a prior spay scar. She has received her core vaccines, deworming, Advantage Multi, and other routine preventative care.

Behavior Notes:
Moxie is a quiet, gentle girl who seems overwhelmed by the shelter environment but blossoms with kindness. She often starts out shy, keeping her tail and ears low, yet once leashed she walks beautifully on a loose leash and enjoys calmly exploring the runs. She loves gentle affection, leans into pets, seeks out human companionship, and has been observed wagging her tail and greeting people softly. Staff believe she may be house-trained, as she consistently keeps her kennel clean. They also noticed she appeared depressed at times, but with extra love and encouragement'including hand-feeding her wet food'she happily ate and responded positively. She remained relaxed around another dog, greeting him politely with a low wagging tail.
