🩺 Medical Notes:
Marlon is suffering from a painful 'happy tail' injury that has proven difficult to heal in the shelter environment. After repeated bleeding episodes, he required sedation so veterinary staff could clean, cauterize, and bandage the tail. A protective sleeve was placed over the tip, and he is currently being treated with Clavamox and Carprofen for infection prevention and pain relief. X-rays also showed ventral vertebral spondylosis at L7-S and he has been noted to limp on his right rear leg. He is heartworm negative, vaccinated, dewormed, and weighs 70 pounds.

🐾Behavior Notes:
Marlon's behavior appears closely tied to the severe pain from his injury. When staff attempted to handle his bleeding tail, he tucked it, tried to avoid restraint, and thrashed, causing further injury. Outside of painful medical procedures, he has shown a much different side'walking on a loose leash and remaining quiet in his kennel. With proper pain management and a peaceful place to recover, Marlon has every opportunity to decompress and show his true personality.
