29-JUL-26 - Interact - 07/29/26 10:32 Anthony had a great experience during his field trip to a local news station. He was easy to leash, and staff had no trouble walking him to the vehicle. He hopped right in, settled into his crate, and relaxed for the drive.

Upon arrival, Anthony eagerly greeted everyone with a waging tail and plenty of enthusiasm. While waiting for his segment, another dog entered the building, which momentarily excited him. He became a bit vocal and attempted to move toward the dog, showing some mouthy behavior, but he was easily redirected. Within a few minutes, he calmed down, sat, and waited patiently for his on-air appearance.

Anthony did an excellent job during his interview. During another segment featuring food, he kept a very watchful eye on the snacks but remained manageable. Throughout the experience, he carried a hamburger stuffy, which he proudly held during much of the adventure.

The return trip to PRC was smooth, and he was easily walked back to his kennel. mja

24-JUL-26 - Interact - 07/24/26 16:30 Staff leashed Anthony easily and on the walk to the play yard, Anthony walked slow. He took his time sniffing his surroundings and ignored all other dogs on the way to the play yard. Once we were in the yard, Anthony sniffed around the yard and ran around a little too. Anthony then rolled over onto his back and began rolling around like this for a couple minutes. Staff walked towards the neighboring play yard to ask the volunteer in there to borrow a toy. Anthony followed staff over there until he saw a dragonfly and began chasing it. The volunteer that was in the other yard threw over a toy for Anthony and he immediately picked it up and started trotting around the yard with it in his mouth. After spending a bit more time in the yard, staff started walking Anthony back to his kennel. He walked back with the toy in his mouth and had no pull on the leash. Anthony looked at all the dogs we passed by but continued the walk to his kennel. Staff had no issues getting him in the kennel or unleashing him. RP

He was very playful, chasing toys and playing fetch, eventually choosing a stuffed toy and a tennis ball as his favorites. He shared them easily and came over gently for treats. He briefly sat beside me on the bench before resting his head in my lap. He walked nicely back to his kennel, carrying his tennis ball, and was easy to unleash.

Staff was able to pick the toy up and give it to Anthony without issue. Anthony allowed Staff to pet him all over without issue and had no problem with his toy being taken from his mouth. 05-MAY-26 - Foster - 05/05/26 08:56 - This short stack is ready to be your house hippo adventure buddy! He hopped in my car easily with a huge grin. We went to the park and did 3 miles together with water breaks and stops for pets . Anthony is the epitome of fierce loyalty. He checks in on walks by looking back at you which is a foundation of trust for dogs. It was difficult to get a picture of him alone as he would collapse his chest into me and flop. He is dainty in his licks and handicaps himself not to nip as excited as he is to love you. If you stop and look the other way he will turn around ready for you to lead the way!! Towards the end of our excursion he walked slower. He took about 10 minutes break before busting out into his hot boy trot again. We celebrated after with a pupcup. He was non reactive towards people, bikes, and kids on our walk. Anthony is a great dog who is waiting for his best friend. mc

01-MAY-26 - Interact - 05/01/26 16:51 Per volunteer: Anthony was easy to leash and he walked with a slight pull and showing no interest in the other dogs along the way. He immediately engaged himself with playing with the toys. He would chase after and exchange out of the ones that I threw him with the one he was carrying. He allowed for and solicited for lots of pets from head to tail. He would stand still for chest rubs, and full pets across his sides. We moved to the garden where Anthony carried a toy with him. He explored the entire yard independently and then came over to where I was seated on the bench for more pets. We moved back to the yard, and Anthony accepted a couple treats gently. He enjoyed licking some whipped cream off of a plate. He carried a toy back to his kennel with him and was easy to unleash.

30-APR-26 - Interact - 04/29/26 14:27 Anthony was laying in the interior of his kennel when approached by staff. He was an easy leash and walked with a light pull. No reactivity to passing kennels/dogs. He spent a long time sniffing around the yard. Came when called and allowed pets all over. He had a loose body for the entirity of the time in the yard. Anthony climbed into staffs lap on several occasions to solicit attention. He loved playing with toys of all kinds but seemed to prefer the plush toys. He was overall very playful, affectionate, and goofy. He knew how to sit for treats and accepted them gently.
