Apple Bloom is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. In the care center, Apple Bloom has shown fearful behavior, including hard barking, growling, dodging the leash, keeping distance from handlers, and displaying a tense body with a tucked tail. Apple Bloom has shown improvement over time, becoming easier to leash and more comfortable around handlers, taking treats, engaging with enrichment, and participating in playgroups but is still struggling to acclimate. Medically, Apple Bloom is apparently healthy.

Apple Bloom came into the care center as a stray; due to this, her behavioral history in a home environment is unknown. Apple Bloom has not acclimated well to the kennel environment and has allowed only minimal handling since intake. She is also noted to display fearful defensive behavior such as growling, baring teeth, tense body, and tucked tail. In the care center, she is noted to engage in snuffle mats and puzzle games. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
