TJ is at risk due to behavioral concerns. In the Care Centers, TJ is fearful and has become difficult to walk. He was reported to thrash, balk, and snap at staff when they return him to his kennel. In his previous home, TJ is reported to be social with strangers and children. He displayed social behavior during intake, leaning into pets around children. Medically, TJ is apparently healthy.
TJ came to ACC via owner surrender. TJ's previous owner describes him as a sweet and affectionate dog who loves to be where his people are. He is exuberant and pulls hard on leash when on walks, so he will need to learn more leash manners. TJ has found the shelter extremely stressful and overwhelming: thrashing, baulking, and head whipping when being returned to kennel. TJ needs a low traffic quiet environment to decompress and show his true self.
