🩺 MEDICAL
Lucky is heartworm negative.
On 8/24, staff evaluated her left front leg, which angles outward. She is still using the leg and bearing weight, with no obvious swelling. The veterinarian noted a valgus deformity, possibly from an old injury or something congenital.
The encouraging news: Lucky is not limping and her gait does not appear affected. No treatment or X-rays are recommended at this time.
She has received DA2PP, Bordetella and rabies vaccines, deworming, Pyrantel and Advantage Multi.

🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES:
Lucky is overwhelmed in the shelter environment. She has shown alarm barking, and raised hackles when frightened.
But there is another side to Lucky once she feels safer. When approached gently and spoken to sweetly, she greets staff with soft eyes, a soft wagging tail and a more relaxed body. She was easily leashed, walked outside on a loose leash, and returned to her kennel easily.
