🩺 MEDICAL NOTES:
Bruce arrived in severe condition after becoming dangerously overheated while riding in the bed of a truck on the way to the shelter. He was heavily panting and initially unsteady on his feet.
Thankfully, his heat stress has now resolved. On 8/25, Bruce had normal breathing and mentation, was no longer unsteady, and was walking well.
This senior does have generalized stiffness likely related to age-related arthritis and poor hind-limb conformation, particularly his right rear leg, which turns inward. Chronic joint supplementation is recommended.
Bruce is also HIGH heartworm positive and will need appropriate treatment.

🐾Behavior Notes:
Bruce may move a little stiffly these days, but he still gets around, walks on his own and even lifts his leg to potty. This old gentleman deserves comfort and care during his golden years.
