Maple tested HIGH POSITIVE for heartworms. She will need heartworm treatment once safely out of the shelter.
She received Rabies, DA2PP-V, Bordetella, deworming, Pyrantel and Advantage Multi at intake, followed by her DA2PP-V booster on 9/9.

BEHAVIOR NOTES:
Maple can sometimes have anxiety, particularly with unfamiliar handling.
But give Maple some patience and her softer side begins to emerge. During one interaction, a staff member sat down and spoke gently to her. Maple came over on her own, allowed petting, lowered her head and leaned into the person for comfort. She has also wagged her tail when petted, sat for treats and taken them gently from a hand.
Maple is frequently described as easy to leash and has walked on a loose or semi-loose leash on multiple occasions. She can also be found quietly curled up or resting on her bed.
