Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. https://newhope.shelterbuddy.com/Animal/Profile/Index/5920257f-ce8a-4613-dff2-08df11c67507This pet is available only through ACC New Hope partners. To adopt or foster, please complete the pre-screener form below. Inquiries sent directly to ACC will not receive a response. Pre-Screener Form Divinity is at risk due to behavior concerns. During her time in the care center Divinity has been observed to be intensely kennel reactive. She is noted to attempt to push out of the kennel, pull hard towards dogs in neighboring kennels. In one instance she stopped walking in the kennel room and threw herself towards a kennel nearly causing the handler to trip over her as the behavior continued. She is noted to pull hard on the leash to the point she makes herself pass out. She is noted to be handler focused and to play gently with familiar handlers. Medically, she is receiving treatment for CIRDC and has mild to moderate dental disease. She is overweight and has Pyoderma. Divinity came into the care center as a stray; due to this, her behavioral history in a home environment is unknown. Divinity has not acclimated well to the kennel environment and has allowed only minimal handling since intake. Divinity has shown to allow petting from familiar handlers but remains fearful of environmental triggers. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
