Check out staff favorite Rufus!
Rufus came in 8/25/2015 and was adopted on 3/17/2016! That's a long time in the shelter!
He is such a good natured dog that the staff just loved him. Unfortunately, he got passed by over and over again when people were looking for dogs.
Then, one day through the magic that is FaceBook, we received a message. The person was asking very specific questions. Sure enough, the lady and her little brother came to meet Rufus. It turns out that this lady trains service dogs and she was interested in Rufus! After spending a little bit of time with him, she was sure she had found her next service dog candidate! He was calm and was very gentle with the child.
She explained that he might be trained to assist a person that might be suffering from PTSD or for someone who might suffer from diabetes.
We are so proud of Rufus and we hope to get updates, in the future, about his new career path!
The shelter is the only place to look for your next pet. There are all kinds of diamonds in the ruff!
