About penny: A5006442 Penny is a sweet 6-year-old tricolor (black, tan, white) female Chihuahua mix who came into the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as s tray from Whittier on October 27th. Weighing 13 lbs, Penny is worried and in some pain right now. She has a gash injury, with stitches and a drainage tube on her right side. She also has an upper-respiratory infection that is being treated. Penny seems to be healing well, but really is in need of quiet time. She was definitely contented being cradled and loved by our volunteer, with her cute her little tongue sticking out. Since she is on pain medication, we were unable to evaluate her temperament or socialization skills, and we didn't put her down to walk on a leash, of course, so we don't yet know how she'll do on leash. Penny will need some care for a bit, so it might be helpful for a rescue to take her, but any loving family who has the time to watch after her while she heals and take her to the vet for after-care will find themselves with a loving indoor pet and loyal girl that will probably want to sit on your everyone's lap. If you are interested in Penny, please contact her volunteer UHA adoption coordinator, Kristin, at 626-393-6258 or kristin@hope4animals.org.
