Playgroup
He was in the back of the kennel with concerned eyes and growling when the runner approached the kennel. The runner opened the gate and tried to coax him up. He would not approach, staying in the back of the kennel with concerned eyes and growling. He dodged the leash a few times while snapping at the leash when the runner was trying to leash him. After a few attempts the runner was able to loop leash him. He walked with a moderate pull on the leash in all directions while walking to the catch pen. He entered the catch pen with concerned eyes and a tense body. It took the runner a few minutes to clasp the collar around him because he was pacing around the catch pen. He was avoidant of the play yard fence, ignoring the other dogs in the yard. He entered the yard on a long, loose leash. He was walked up to a male Pitbull. He did not greet him but was tolerant of him coming up to sniff him. He was walked up to a female shepherd, they exchanged a soft greeting and walked away from each other. The leashes were dropped. He roamed the yard and explored the yard away from the other dogs. He did not approach any of the handlers in the yard. He remained tolerant of the dogs for the rest of his time in the yard. He did not display any play style. He was taken into the catch pen for a handling assessment. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, ADULTS (REQ), CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY

Handling
He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him. He would not approach. The handler slowly approached him. She ran a hand down his back, and he flinched. He had concerned eyes and a tucked tail. She checked his ears with no reaction. She tried to check his teeth, but he turned his head away. She ran a hand down his back and touched his tail. He tucked his tail when she touched it. When she touched his front and back paws, he pulled them away with concerned eyes and turned towards her hand with a closed mouth. Due to his handling sensitivities during his assessment, he will be made adults required. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, ADULTS (REQ), CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY
