Eval Comments: The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She walked to the play yard with no pull on the leash. She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a male Pitbull and tolerated him sniffing her, but she was tense as he did so. She also remained tolerant of him lingering in her face and offered no corrections, but she was tense. She began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She continued to remain tolerant of dogs approaching her and sniffing her, but she was more comfortable around the calmer dogs. She began to exchange some timid greetings with the calm dogs. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. Honey is tolerant of other dogs and displayed no play style at this time, but she would do best with a calm dog. Due to her pror history of attacking cats, chickens and sheep, she will be designated as rescue only with a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
