A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out?or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She walked with a low body behind the runner on leash to the catch pen. She needed to be coaxed the whole time walking on the leash. She was given a few moments to explore her surroundings. The runner knelt and coaxed her over. She approached with a low body, whining and licking her lips. She sought affection from the handler before her assessment. She allowed the handler to check her teeth and ears with no reaction. She allowed the handler to lift and hold both her front and back paws with no reaction. She allowed the handler to hold her tail with no reaction. After her assessment, she crawled next to the handler seeking affection. She is young and needs confidence building and continued socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION
