Eval Comments:
_ The behaviors described to day reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life expenences. She walked to the play yard with a moderate pull in all directions. She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen, but she needed a go-slow approach. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by two dogs at the same time and exchanged soft greetings with them both. She began to roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She remained calm and social for the rest of her time in the yard, but she was more comfortable with the calm dogs. She was wary of faster movements and needed a go-slow approach around the handlers in the yard. She is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time.

The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on suroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. She was given a moment to acclimate to her surroundings. The handler knelt and called to her, but she did not approach. The handler approached her and she had soft body language. She allowed the handler to pet her head with no reaction. She allowed the handler to check her teeth with no reaction. She allowed the handler to check her ears with no reaction. When the handler touched her front paws, she had concemed eyes and licked her lips. When the handler touched her back paws or tail, she would sit down. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. She displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling, but she does best with a go-slow approach. Due to needing a slower approach and some mild handling sensitivity, she will be designated as adults only recommended.
