\"The behaviors described to day reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and dunng assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" She walked to the play yard with no pull on the leash. She was tense and giving side eye when being collared by the runner in the catch pen. She required a very go-slow approach when being collared. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female Pitbull.
She had wide eyes and was tense, but she remained tolerant of her sniffing her. She was then approached by a male cattle dog and displayed the same behavior. She began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She continued to tolerate dogs approaching her and sniffing her, but she was tense and had wide eyes. She would do best with a very calm dog that would respect her space and boundaries. She was wary of the handlers in the yard and kept her distance. See handling assessment for rescue only stipulation.

A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" She was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. She was given a moment to acclimate to her surroundings. The handler knelt and called to her, but she did not approach. The handler approached her and she had wide eyes and tucked tail. She allowed the handlerto pet her head, but she had wide eyes looking up. When the handler attempted to check her teeth, she lip curled. She was wary of the handler's movements and wary of them going behind her. When the handler touched her back paw, she spun around and attempted to bite. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. Due to reports from the previous home of attemptingto bite, attempting to bite with medical staff at the care center and again dunng her handling assessment, she will be designated as rescue only.
