Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He walked to the play yard with no pull on the leash. He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen and they also removed his choke chain from the previous home.
He had no issue with this, but he did have partially tucked tail. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a female Labrador and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He tolerated her lingering in his face, licking his muzzle and playfully pawing at his body to entice play. He offered no corrections to any of this. He began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to exchange soft greetings when dogs approached him. He then engaged in some gentle/dainty play with the female Labrador. He remained social for the rest of his time in the yard. Casper is social with the other dogs and prefers a gentle/dainty play style.

He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him.
He approached the handler with soft eyes and neutral tail wag. He began to lean against the handler and seek affection. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch and hift all his paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling, but he was a little head shy at times and does best with a slower approach. He was retumed to his kennel without issue.
