Eval Comments:
- \"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" She would not walk to the play yard and appeared to not be leash trained. She remained tolerant of the runner picking her up and canying her to the play yard. She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with concemed eyes, a tucked tail and sat down by one of the fences. She was approached by a female shepherd and immediately gave a show of teeth warning for space.
She was then approached by a male Labrador and displayed the same behavior. She stayed by the fence for some time and continued to either show teeth or air snap at all dogs that approached her. After a while, she began to explore a little of the yard and moved to a different area. She continued to show teeth and snap at all dogs that approached her, regardless of their approach speed or energy level. Due to her defensive behavior, she will be designated as no other dogs recommended. She will require a lot more socialization around other dogs and socialization to being on leash.
