A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He would not walk to the play yard and appeared to not be leash trained. He remained tolerant of the runner picking him up and carrying him to the play yard. He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with concemed eyes and a tucked tail. He was approached by a dog from behind and tolerated him calmly sniffing him. When the dog approached round to his face and lingered, he gave a show of teeth waming for space. He began to roam the yard and kept to himself. He continued to remain tolerant if calm dogs sniffed him from behind. But he would give show of teeth or air snap warnings to higher energy dogs or dogs that lingered near his face. He would approach the handlers and seek affection. He would do best with a very calm dog that would respect his space and boundaries, to allow him to gain more confidence. He needs socialization to walking on a leash. Due to prior incidents in the previous home, he will be designated as no cats or livestock required and will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
