\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He began barking at the kennel gate when the runner approached and attempted to bite the runner's hands through the bars. When the runner opened the kennel gate, he was easy to loop leash. He immediately pulled hard toward the kennel next to him and began trying to bite at the other dog through the bars. The runner was able to pull him away and continued the walk to the play yard, where he walked with a very hard pull. He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. His choke chain that he amved at the care center with was removed. He became baner reactive toward the dogs through the play yard fence, barking and muzzle punching the fence.
Due to his behavior toward other dogs at his kennel and in the catch pen, he was muzzled prior to entering the yard. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a social male shepherd. He immediately became tense and froze with a forward body posture. He then put his muzzle at the side of the shepherd's neck. He froze for a second and then forcefully lunged, growling and tried to bite. Ahandler was able to grab his leash and he was removed for the yard at this time. Due to his offensive behavior displayed, he will be designated as not other dogs required. He will need work on impulse control and leash reactivity.
