Meet Kira! 🐾
Kira is a gentle, calm girl who loves people 💖🐶. She greeted her handler with a soft, relaxed demeanor, happily accepting pets and walking easily on leash. In the play yard, Kira was friendly with other dogs but preferred to stay close to her people, often nuzzling for affection 🥰. With her soft eyes 👀, wagging tail, and calm energy, she?s the perfect companion for a peaceful, loving home.
Kira would do best in a quiet environment with calm dogs and a family who will give her the love and attention she craves 🏡

?The behaviors described today reflect the dog?s responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and
unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out?or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may
change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.?
Kira greeted the runner nicely with a relaxed demeanor allowing the runner to pet her muzzle. She was easily leashed and
removed from the kennel. Kira walked ahead of the runner with a slight pull bypassing the dogs along the way. Once in the
catch pen Kira was collared and leashed without issue allowing petting during the process. Kira greeted the dogs at the
barrier with a neutral demeanor and was allowed into the play yard. Kira displayed a relaxed body, soft tail wag, open mouth
pant, and soft eyes. Kira allowed the dogs to gather and sniff her maintaining a calm demeanor. Once the group dispersed
Kira moved on and began to explore the yard sniffing and marking various locations. Kira approached the handlers and
would sit/stand near them. She would calmly seek affection nuzzling the handler for petting. She remained by their side and
would follow them as they navigated the play yard. Kira spent the majority of the play session with or around the handlers.
She was able to co-exist in the play yard but appeared to prefer to be around people. Kira maintained a calm and relaxed
demeanor displaying no play style. Kira could benefit from further socialization and going to a home with a calm
environment. Kira is ok for public adoption low energy level calm dogs recommended.
