He displayed unpredictable behavior and was unable to be safely handled on his previous assessment and was already designated as rescue only. Due to this and now being surrendered again for aggression and a bite for just being pet, he will be rescue only with a known history of aggression disclosure and a bite disclosure form.

He was standing at the kennel gate with hard eyes and ears back. The handler knelt at the kennel gate and began to verbally reassure him. He then barked, lunged forward and gave an air snap. When the handler opened the kennel gate, he retreated to the middle of the kennel. The handler knelt and began to verbally coax him. He began to avoid eye contact and lick his lips. When the handler presented the leash, he growled and gave a show of teeth. As the handler attempted to loop leash him, he bit the leash once. The handler knelt again and continued to verbally reassure him. The handler asked if he wanted to go for a walk, his eyes began to soften and he tilted his head. When the handler would present the leash, he remained wary of it and dodged it. The handler continued to talk to him and he then approached the front of the kennel. The handler was then able to eventually place the loop leash over his head. Once on leash, he exited the kennel willingly and walked with a light pull. He was taken to a yard for the handling assessment. He was given a few minutes to acclimate to his surroundings. He roamed the yard on leash with a relaxed body and neutral tail wag. The handler then sat down on a bench in the yard. He immediately approached and stood near to the handler?s leg. As the handler looked at him, he gave a lip curl. The handler stood up and stepped back giving him space. He was walked around the yard some more and given time to explore. The handler again sat down on the bench. He immediately approached with soft eyes and neutral tail wag. He placed his head onto the handler?s thigh and rested it there. As the handler looked at him, his eyes began to harden and gave a lip curl while still resting his head on their leg. The handler kept control of his head with a shortened leash, stood up and stepped back to create space. The handling assessment was ended at this point due to his behavior. When walking back to his kennel, he walked with a relaxed body and neutral tail wag. He saw another member of staff and froze with hard eyes focused on them and growling. The handler that had him on leash was able to easily walk him away and return him to his kennel. The handler used a safety hook, to safely remove the loop leash from off over his head. Due to his unpredictable behavior and being unable to be handled, he will be designated as rescue only.
