\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out-or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He was resistant to walking on the leash. The handler muzzled him and camed him to the play yard. He was given a few minutes to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler called to him, but he would not approach. He had concemed eyes and would create space anytime the handler tried to approach him. The handler slowly approached him. He tried creating space away from the handler. He stood frozen, pulling away on the leash when the handler tried to pet his head. He froze as the handler scratched behind his ears. He allowed the handler to check his ears and teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to lift and hold his front and back paw. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. Throughout the whole assessment he sat frozen with concemed eyes. He needs confidence building and trust building. Due to his need for a go-slow approach and trust building with new people, he will be designated as adults only required. BEHAVIORALLY OK
