Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a high energy female Pitbull. He became tense and tried to create space from her. She playfully jumped on him, trying to entice play and he gave a growl warning. He then walked away and began to explore the yard. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He remained more tolerant of calmer dogs approaching him and sniffing him. He continued to give show of teeth wamings for space to higher energy dogs that approached fast or dogs that lingered in his face. He would approach the handlers and seek affection. He would do best with a calm dog that would respect his space and boundaries.
