He has shown barrier reactivity around other dogs and gets overstimulated when they?re nearby, so he?ll need a home that can give him clear boundaries and plenty of positive reinforcement training. 🐕‍🦺
While Zeus can be challenging in busy environments, he has great potential in the right setting ? ideally with someone who understands reactive dogs and can give him a calm, consistent routine. 🏡💛

?The behaviors described today reflect the dog?s responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and
unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change
based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.?
Zeus was in the yard when a new dog entered the catch pen. Zeus immediately began fence fighting with the other dog, and
was very difficult to steer. He ignored the handler?s corrections, and had to be moved to the side yard. He was unable to
settle, and continued to bark, growl, and muzzle punch the fence. He continued to ignore the handler?s corrections, and had
to be returned to his kennel. While walking back to his kennel, he barked, growled, and lunged at all of the other dogs, and
was difficult to handle. Due to this level of barrier reactivity, Zeus will require a KHOA.

Zeus greeted the runner with a relaxed body and friendly demeanor. He was easy to leash and remove from the kennel,
pulled strongly on leash, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, his body was relaxed and wiggly. He entered the yard, and
exchanged appropriate greetings with the other dogs. He engaged in energetic play, and solicited petting from the handlers.
Zeus is social with the other dogs, has a medium energy level, and prefers a push/pull playstyle.
