🐾 Meet Bane! 🐶 Bane is a handsome pup who came to us after showing some aggression in his previous home, but since arriving here, he?s been calm, friendly, and full of potential 💛. He does have some food aggression and can be a bit reactive toward other dogs, so he?ll do best with an experienced rescue who can help him continue to grow and feel safe. With his medium energy level, Bane enjoys playtime but also loves to relax and soak up attention 🐕‍🦺. He?s only available for rescue adoption, and he?s ready for a second chance at a happy life! 💕

Bane greeted the runner with a relaxed body and a neutral tail wag. He was easy to leash and remove from the kennel,
walked nicely on leash while bypassing the other kennels, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, his body was tense, his
tail was high, and he barked, growled, and muzzle punched the fence. He was muzzled prior to entering the yard for the
safety of the other dogs. He entered the yard, and exchanged tense greetings with the other dogs. After a few minutes, he
began to growl at the other dogs with a tense body and hard eyes. He challenged all of the other dogs, and began lunging at
everyone. He tried to start fights with several dogs at once, and was difficult to steer due to redirecting on the nearest dog
when the handlers tried to move him away. Due to the muzzle, he was unable to actually engage in an altercation, but he had
to be removed from the yard for the comfort of the other dogs. He was placed in the side yard, where he explored with a
relaxed body. He occasionally approached the fence to growl at the other dogs, but would move away on his own after a few
seconds. Bane is slightly offensive with the other dogs, has a medium energy level, and does not have a playstyle at this time.

Bane was the last dog in the yard when the handler decided to begin his resource guarding assessment. He approached the
handler with a neutral body, and allowed her to remove his muzzle with no issues. The second handler used the leash to
gently restrain him while the handler began the assessment. Bane was presented with a stuffed toy, which he briefly sniffed
before losing interest. He did not react when the handler used the Assess-A-Hand to touch the toy, and did not mind when
the handler picked the toy up and removed it from the yard. The handler then presented Bane with a bowl of food and asked
him to sit. Bane sat nicely and watched the handler with soft eyes as she placed the bowl in front of him. He immediately
stood up and began to eat the food. He ate quickly while shoving his nose deep into the bowl. The handler used the
Assess-A-Hand to gently pet his back, and Bane began to growl loudly while shoving his nose deeper into the bowl. The
handler moved the Assess-A-Hand away, and waited a few moments before moving the hand closer to the bowl. Bane began
to growl deeply while hovering over the bowl. He kept his head down, and stared at the Assess-A-Hand with hard eyes while
baring his teeth. The handler moved the Assess-A-Hand away, and Bane began to eat again. he continued to watch the
Assess-A-Hand, and began to snarl when the hand touched the bowl. He quickly turned toward the hand while snapping, and
then muzzle punched the hand while baring his teeth. When he finished eating the food, he moved away from the empty
bowl with a relaxed body. He did not react when the handler used the Assess-A-Hand to touch the empty bowl, and seemed
unconcerned when the handler picked the bowl up to place it on the table.

Bane was at the front of the kennel with a relaxed demeanor and greeted the handler nicely. Bane was easy to leash and
remove from the kennel walking ahead of the runner with a moderate pull on the leash. Bane was taken to the play yard and
was given time to decompress. Bane displayed a relaxed body, open mouth pant, natural ear set, relaxed tail wag, and soft
eyes. Bane approached the handler allowing petting and leaned into their touch. The handler was able to examine Bane?s
ears, mouth abdomen, back, lower extremities, and tail without issue. Bane maintained a relaxed demeanor throughout the
assessment and was returned to his kennel without issue. Pending dog to dog/food assessment.
