Junior A5223044 (ALTERED) ?The behaviors described today reflect the dog?s responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.?
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He was tense and began to growl at the dogs through the fence. He entered the play yard with a forward body posture and immediately went towards a social female Pitbull. He immediately growled, lunged forward, and bit her on the muzzle. She yelped and jumped back to create space from him. A handler was able to pull him away by his leash and he was removed from the yard at this time. Due to his immediate unprovoked offensive behavior, toward a social dog, he will be designated as no other dogs required. Junior has not improved from his previous assessment. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, NO OTHER DOGS (REQUIRED), LOW ENERGY
