He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen, but he remained frozen in the comer and required a go slow approach.
He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs at the same time and exchanged soft greetings with them both. After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard to explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to calmly roam the yard and exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. He remained calm and social for the rest of his time in the yard. There were dogs playing during his time in the yard, but he did not engage in or entice any play. He was wary of the handlers in the yard and would create space from them. Zion is social with the other dogs, but he displayed no play style at this time. He had to be camed back to his kennel by a handler, due to not being leash trained. He had no negative reaction to being picked up and cared. He will need some confidence building and socialization to walking on leash.

He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him, but he would not approach. The handler slowly approached him, and he had concemed eyes and a low body. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. When the handler touched his tail or any of his paws, he would pull them away. He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling, but he is wary of faster movements and needs a go-slow approach. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. Due to some handling sensitivity and doing best with a slower approach, he would do best in an adult only
