Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by two dogs at the same time. She tolerated them both sniffing her, but she was timid. After the dogs broke away, she began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs traling her to sniff her. She began to approach and exchange soft greetings with the calmer dogs. She was approached by a male shepherd that continued to linger nearher face. She gave an air snap waming for space and he respected it walking away. She remained social around the calmer dogs for the rest of her time in the yard, but she was wary around the higher energy dogs. She would create space from them, when possible, but she would give air snap wamings for space if needed. She would do best with a very calm dog that would respect her space and boundaries. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. Due to a prior incident with another dog in the previous home, she will require a known history of aggression disclosure for.
