Eval Comments: The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out-or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change
He had a loose body and soft eyes as the collar was easily clasped around his neck. He had a neutral tail wag and soft eyes while greeting several dogs through the fence. He was timid entering the play yard with a low head. He tolerated several dogs coming up to sniff his body, briefly sniffing them in retum. He then spent a few minutes exploring the yard. He was tolerant of a few dogs trailing behind him while sniffing his body. He did not tum to interact with them. He briefly checked in with the handlers as he explored, sniffing their hand and allowing them to briefly rub his head and back. He continued roaming the yard and began to relax slightly as time passed. He began approaching and exchanging soft greetings with the other dogs. He did not display any play style while in the yard today. He needs further socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY

He approached the handler with soft eyes and a loose body, leaning against the handler's leg while soliciting affection. He remained loose as the handler looked in his ears, viewed his teeth and held his tail. He pushed his front paws down with light pressure, not fully comfortable with the handler picking the up. He had concemed eyes and a closed mouth as the handler picked up his rear paws. As soon as the handler released his paw, he immediately relaxed and resumed soliciting affection.
He was taken back to his kennel easily. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY
