He had a loose body with a neutral tail wag as he climbed in the runner's lap to solicit affection. The collar was easily clasped around his neck. He was wary of the dogs in the play yard and did not approach the fence to greet them. He slowly and timidly entered the yard. He tolerated several dogs coming up to him while tuming his head away. When he noticed an opening between the other dogs, he ran up to a handler playfully and jumped on his leg for affection and reassurance. He will need basic manners training for his jumping. He began to relax and spent several minutes calmly roaming with a few other dogs. A female shepherd enticed him for play. He appeared unsure at first but seemed to relax and become more playful with each attempt she made forplay. Eventually he engaged in some light chase play with her. As time passed, he became much more confident. He began approaching the other dogs playfully and confidently. He would also approach new dogs being introduced into the yard and exchange good greetings. He retumed to the female shepherd and resumed playing.
He play was now rough as he wrestled and enjoyed using him mouth to nip and her and briefly hold her. He would also lightly growl and whine as he played. He needs confidence building and further socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, LARGE DOGS OK, MEDIUM ENERGY

He had a puppy-like demeanor with a wiggly body as he approached the handler. He remained loose with soft eyes as the handler looked in his ears, viewed his teeth, held his tail and held each of his paws. Heremained puppy-like and solicited affection as the handling assessment was concluded. No negative behavior was observed at all. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, LARGE DOGS OK, MEDIUM ENERGY
