JOEY and his siblings initially went to foster care under the shelter foster program - he was adopted out at a later date and came back as a stray on 12/23/25 - the finder said JOEY is
\"FRIENDLY and GOOD with OTHER DOGS and PEOPLE\"
On this occasion, the shelter decided to give JOEY an age estimate of 2 years old when, in reality, he was SIX MONTHS old and weighing just 29.60 lbs........ (he weighed 6.63lbs on 6/23/25)
There is no doubt JOEY and his siblings had a rough start and JOEY'S first adopter hasn't come looking for him so they weren't so great either - he probably didn't have the best socialisation background - losing his Mama before he was properly weaned and having to deal with the whole shelter experience but IT'S NOT RIGHT that he should be KILLED for it! HE'S STILL a YOUNG PUPPY!!
This is what the shelter have to say about him (bearing in mind they are now treating him as being TWO years old........
\"JOEY has exhibited extremely inappropriate behavior towards other dogs, including instigating multiple altercations. For his safety and that of the other dogs in our care, we are no longer able to house him with other dogs.
He needs behavioral assessment and support that we are not able to provide in the shelter environment. WE ARE SEEKING URGENT EXIT for JOEY with RESCUE or an EXPERIENCED ADOPTER who can provide him with the support he needs to become a safe pet.\"
