\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He approached a female Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He then began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He was approached by a male shepherd. He immediately became tense with wide eyes and licking his lips. Ahandler used a spray bottle to break to focus, and they went their separate ways. He continued roaming the yard and was social with the female dogs. A short time later, he stood with a forward posture and began growling at a different male shepherd, that was around 8ft away from him. Ahandler picked up his leash, and he was removed from the yard at this time. Due to his behavior around the male dogs, but remaining social with the female dogs, he will be designated as female dogs only required.
