\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female shepherd and immediately began to growl and show teeth. When the female shepherd remained in front of her, then then lunged forward and gave multiple consecutive air snaps. She was then approached by a male shepherd and displayed the same behavior. She began to roam the yard to herself and explore. She continued to display the same defensive behavior toward any dog that approached near her. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. Due to her defensive behavior toward other dogs, she would do best as an only dog in the home. Due to the alleged pror incident, she will require an adult only home and a bite disclosure form.
