A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
She was standing at the kennel gate, growling, barking, and showing teeth. When the runner opened the kennel gate, she retreated to the back of the kennel. She had concemed eyes and dodged the leash a few times. Once the leash was on, she beganto scream, pull back, and bite at the leash. The runner released some pressure and knelt to verbally reassure her. She froze with hard eyes and began to lip curl. The runner took a step back and knelt near the kennel gate reassuring her. The runner reached to pick up the safety leash, in order safely release the loop leash and remove it from over her head. As the runner picked up the safety leash, she charged to the front of the kennel growling and trying to bite toward the runner. The runner was able to take a quick step back and close the kennel gate before she made contact. With the kennel gate cracked open slightly, the runner was able to remove the loop leash using the safety leash. While doing this, she continued to scream, pulled back and bite at the leash. Due to her behavior and being unable to remove her safely from the kennel, she will be designated as rescue only.
